Open enrollment is rapidly approaching and is the one time of year when you can add or switch your healthcare coverage. Open enrollment for the coming year runs from November 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017.
Important dates for 2017 enrollment:
- November 1, 2016: Open Enrollment starts — first day you can enroll in a 2017 plan
- January 1, 2017: First date 2017 coverage can start
- January 31, 2017: Open Enrollment ends
If you don’t enroll by January 31, 2017, you can’t enroll in a health insurance plan for 2017 unless you qualify for a Special Election Period.
